A BLUE-GREY PERSIAN MIX KITTY KAT

Once upon a time, I came to know a gorgeous furball. She was a mixed Persian/Short-Haired Blue-Grey female cat. She didn't belong to me. She belonged to a relative who had no ideas as to what a cat required for a long and happy life.

No matter how many time this relative had been told what bare minimum was required, it was completely ignored...

"Blue Girl" renamed by myself, I brought her the specific foods she required every time I visited and/or babysat. I'd sit crossed legged on the floor after my chores were done and she'd climb in and curled up in my legs. This would be followed by a unending purring session.

If I needed to get up for anything, I took her in my arms or if I needed my hands, I would wrap her around my neck, her warm  soft and light body resting on my shoulders. She would gently dig her claws into whatever I wore to hold on. She loved it.

She only lived for 8 short years, dying of advanced diabetes due to malnutrition. It was very sad... However...

I never ever told anyone, until today, that I knew when she passed away, that I knew exactly when she left the earthly plane for the animal everafter... NOTE: We didn't know she'd been dying of advanced diabetes until she'd passed away and an autopsy was done by the local vet before her burial.

1977... I'd spend three days babysitting my relatives' child who was just a baby, sick but that's another story for latter... Maybe!

Anyway, they'd gone on a long-weekend holiday, and besides the child, I looked after my loving "Blue Girl". I spoiled both that weekend. In particular for Blue, I brought her cat foods, treats, a small scratch post and proper wee bag of litter for her makeshift box.

Put it simply, all three of us had a very enjoyable weekend...Blue didn't leave my side all through the holiday. She also cried a heartbreaking meow when I had to leave on Tuesday night. The feeling I had at the moment was that we had spent one last holiday together...and the love would last years later from the beyond...

Everything went very quiet for about a month... I came back from my community centre volunteering job one day. It had been during the hottest Indian Summer Fortnight, I needed a long shower to remove layers of drenching sweats.

Just after my shower, exhausted but refreshed I dropped onto my bed and promptly fell asleep. At that time I didn't have any pets of my own...

Suddenly, I was awoken by a familiar weight on my chest, a very recognisable purr in my ears and finally a cute sandpaper tongue warm and wet, licked every inch of my chin.

Eyes half-closed still asleep, I muttered: "Hey Blue Girl how you doing..." and then I woke up, holding on to her furry body and loud enough, shouted: "Blue what are you doing here, your mum and dad will be missing you... What???"

She let out a mornful meow, gave me a few extra licks on my chin and vanished into thin air...The next day, we got the news that Blue Girl had passed away the prior evening... Even the time mentioned corresponding to the time Blue visited me in my old flat.

Long after her departure from this world and to this day, Blue Girl still visits me from time to time... Easy to know that it's her as she's ever been the only one cat to kiss me on the chin...

Love transcended from Earth to Cat Heaven... My current and living Kitty Kat tolerates, this one cat visiting, his human mum.

Blackie, from my baker's dozen, sends Kitty Kat in a frenzy of attacks, but he understands that Blue Girl needs her adopted mum's love still... Blessed be!
